What a payslip contains
A payslip is the employee's record of one pay period. Beyond the pay figures, it identifies the person and shows how many days they were paid for, which is why it is often the document people keep for their own files.
The top block carries the employee's name, ID, designation, department and date of joining, along with their bank name and account number, PAN and UAN. An attendance line shows total days, paid days and loss-of-pay (LOP) days. Below that sit the earnings and deductions, and the net pay at the end.
A payslip walked through with sample data
The sample in this tool is a March payslip for a senior software engineer in the engineering department, who joined in January 2023 and is paid to an HDFC Bank account. The month has 31 days and 30 of them are paid.
That leaves one LOP day, and the tool works this out for you: LOP days are simply total days minus paid days. Change the paid days and the LOP figure on the slip updates with it. The sample company name and address are plain text in the header, so replace them with your own.

LOP stands for loss of pay, meaning days the employee was not paid for, such as unpaid leave. Here it is calculated as total days minus paid days.
Can I add my company logo?
Not in this tool. The company name and address print as text in the header. If you need a logo, you can add it after saving the PDF, using your own editor.
Can I create payslips for many employees at once?
